We are what we think.

A famous quote by Lord Buddha, “The mind is everything. What you think you become.” There is truth in this statement. If you can control your mind, you can dictate the course of your life. You can either be held captive by your thoughts or set free by them. Whichever one you choose will determine the quality of your life.

We do a lot of thinking daily, either consciously or otherwise. Experts estimate that between 50,000 and 80,000 thoughts go through our minds each day. That’s about one thought every second, and that’s even ignoring that we spend about a quarter or a third of the day sleeping. Fascinating, isn’t it? Only 5% of those 60,000 are new thoughts. That means 95% of the time, we are repeating our thoughts over and over and over again.

Our Mindset:

Our life gravitates in the direction of our most dominant thoughts. Most people are unaware that the things they think will ultimately determine their thoughts, actions, and behavior. If our dominant thoughts are I’m not good enough, I’m not strong enough, I’m not clever enough, I’m awkward, I’m stupid. I’m just not enough. What do you think your life will look like when these are the words you say to yourself every day?

The fact is our thoughts control our decisions and actions, and our actions, to a large extent, influence our results. So if we think “not enough,” we’ll act “not enough.” If we think of defeat, we’ll act as a person who has surrendered. If we think of victory, we’ll act like a victor.

Control your Mind, Control your life:

Your mind is a powerful tool. It can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. If you believe you can’t do something, then you are setting yourself up for failure. Before you have even started, you doubt whether you will be successful; it is a recipe for disaster.

Our thoughts are the soil from which our values and, by extension, life grow. We live what we think about constantly. These thoughts may be intangible, but their power is how they affect us and make us act. They can either broaden our horizons or hold us back. There is no major issue with having negative thoughts. All of us have them at some point or another; the issue is when you start to give in to them

Our thoughts are ours and ours alone. We have the ability to choose how we feel, to decide how we will live our lives. That’s why our thoughts are so important because they dictate almost every aspect of our lives.

Suppose you want to change your thought process and improve your quality of life. You have to take action. Only you live with your thoughts, no one else. If you don’t take action, then who will?

How can we lead a successful life?

If we want a positive life, we need to evaluate how much our dominant thoughts are positive? Because let’s face it, negative thinking won’t lead to a positive life. Our life will find a way to gravitate in the direction of our most dominant thoughts. That’s why we can hardly win a battle in the world that we have lost in our minds. Thoughts are where every victory, every defeat begins.

1. Decide which thoughts are we allowing in our mind.

We don’t have complete control over choosing which thoughts walk the passage of our mind, but we have the power to choose which one makes a home there. And if we are serious about changing our life, we really can’t ignore or be passive about our thoughts. They have a big say in how our life turns out.

2. Take an inventory of your thoughts

If we have some goals or some results that we seek or some desires we want to manifest in our life, it’s wise to take an inventory of our thoughts and ask ourselves if those thoughts are the right seeds that will grow into the results we want.

3. Believe you can achieve what you set your mind to

The people who succeed in this world are the ones who get up and look for the situations they want, believe in, and dream of success. For sure, you will have to walk through obstacles, not through the bed of roses. But firm belief in yourself can lead you to the dreams of your success. Every failure can be a step forward, and every breakdown can be a breakthrough. The only thing you have to do is believe your mind. In the end, I would sum up with this, whether we think we can, or we think we can’t.

ALWAYS REMEMBER:

● It’s easy to spot a yellow car when you’re looking for a yellow car.

● It’s easy to spot an opportunity when you’re always thinking of an opportunity.

● It’s easy to spot reasons to be angry when you’re always thinking of being angry.

Remember, what you are today, is the fruit of what you have pictured yourself in your mind.
