Everything Is Hard—Choose Your Hard

Life has never been a bed of roses for anyone, and it certainly wasn’t for me. However, in every challenge, there is a choice. We may not control every obstacle that comes our way, but we can always decide which battles to fight and which paths to take.

Still not clear? Allow me to explain.

Each of us has goals—ambitions that define our journey. The road to achieving them will never be smooth; it will always be filled with hurdles. But here’s the truth: nothing worth having  comes easy. Hardships are inevitable, regardless of the path you choose. The key is to be intentional about which hardships you embrace.

Decide Your Hard

We often assume that life throws problems at us randomly, but in reality, we are the ones making choices that bring certain challenges. Think about it—getting a job, buying a house, or working toward financial stability are all tough pursuits. But did life impose these difficulties on you, or did you choose them in pursuit of something greater?

When you consciously pick the struggle that aligns with your goals, life becomes more purposeful. Instead of feeling weighed down, you feel empowered—because even though it’s difficult, it’s the difficulty you chose.

My Journey: Choosing the Hard Path on Purpose

If I reflect on my own challenges, you might be surprised to learn that I deliberately chose a career in sales—one of the most demanding professions in the world. But the kind of sales I do is even harder because I don’t sell tangible products; I sell personal growth, transformation, and self-improvement.

My work revolves around human development. The reward? Prayers, gratitude, and the immense satisfaction of seeing people unlock their potential. Watching my clients go from feeling lost to believing in the impossible is the most fulfilling part of my job.

How Do I Do It?

By asking the right questions. I spend hours listening to individuals, understanding their struggles, and helping them develop a personalized strategy for success. Through my program, they invest in themselves—an empowering act in itself. The financial investment may feel daunting, but the value it brings to their lives makes it worthwhile.

Today, I take immense pride in not only helping people transform their lives but also enabling them to pay it forward. I love seeing the joy on their faces when I ask if they’d like to do the same work I do. The answer is always a resounding “yes”, and I make sure to equip them with the skills to turn it into a secondary source of income.

Your Hard, Your Choice

My journey hasn’t been easy. The reason I chose this path is that many around me lacked this mindset. They didn’t believe in empowering others, nor did they understand how powerful words can be in changing lives.

The reality is, everything is hard—you just have to choose which struggle is worth it.

  • Obesity is hard. Losing weight is hard. Choose your hard.
  • Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.
  • Being in debt is hard. Becoming financially stable is hard. Choose your hard.
  • Communication is hard. Being misunderstood is harder. Choose your hard.

Life will never be easy, especially for those who dream big. But before you decide what to pursue, ask yourself: What am I willing to struggle for?

Know Your ‘Why’

Your goal should always be your priority. Ask yourself:

  • Why am I investing my time and money into this?
  • Why do I want to improve my education?
  • Why do I want to lose weight?
  • Why do I want to become a better individual?

Whatever your reasons may be, remember that you are not bound by anyone else’s expectations. You are free to choose your hard—so choose wisely.
